The series is based on the book by Nunn of the same name and was ordered straight-to-series on January 6, 2016
with a straight two-season-order, containing twenty episodes. It premiered on Hulu on October 19, 2016.
A forensic neuro-psychiatrist reluctantly enters a dangerous and violent world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness.
The series focuses on a forensic neuropsychiatrist, Dr. Eldon Chance (Hugh Laurie), living in San Francisco,
who is semi-willingly pulled into his patient’s, Jaclyn Blackstone’s (Gretchen Mol), dangerous life of police corruption, manipulation, and abuse.
While dealing with a divorce of his own, and secrets he has been trying to hold back for years, he has to save Jaclyn from her abusive partner, as well as herself.
The second TV show, after “House,” in which Hugh Laurie stars as a troubled doctor whose last name is a common noun as well as the one-word title of the show. (Although in the first case the noun is a concrete object while in the other it is an abstract quality.) Also, Laurie uses an American accent in both series.
An antisocial maverick doctor who specializes in diagnostic medicine does whatever it takes to solve
that come his way using his crack team of doctors and his wits.
The series follows the life of anti-social, pain killer addict, witty and arrogant medical doctor Gregory House
with only half a muscle in his right leg.
He and his team of medical doctors try to cure very ill ordinary people in the United States of America.
